10 Best Things to Do In Phuket

The sun, sea and sand are obviously the main attractions of Phuket and many of the activities in the area include relaxing on the beach, snorkelling, diving, other water sports and cruises. Phuket has much more to offer however and away from the coast you will find there is no shortage of different things to do. Thailand has its very own unique culture and the people are more than happy to share it with you. You can get a real feel of authentic Thai culture by visiting the temples and other places of interest. Alternatively, you can enjoy the local entertainment with shows and nightspots that will give anybody a great time out.

Koh Panyee

As a tropical paradise with exquisite beaches, a rich and diverse culture, welcoming people and a world of new experiences Phuket is a place that has something to offer to everybody. With so much to do and so many sights to see however, it is unfortunate that many people will miss out on much of what Phuket does have to offer. With time limitations meaning that we can only get to do so much, it is a shame that we are often unable to fit more into the time we have available.

Rang Hill

One of the first things that many people notice about Phuket is that it is very hilly with the roads often having to ascend, or wind their way down, steep inclines. While this can make for some hair-raising journeys it also makes for some spectacular scenery with views that stretch as far as our eyes are able to see. With a taste for a little adventure and the willingness to go off the beaten track, visitors to Phuket Thailand will get to see parts of the island that few other people have had the fortune of witnessing.

Similan Islands

It can be easy to think that people over talk the natural beauty of Phuket and the surrounding area, but then the stunning views are one of the standout aspects of the island. Soft sandy beaches bordering crystal clear waters are a dream come true for many holiday makers and even Phuket’s most developed beach, Patong beach, is a tropical paradise that many other locations around the world simply cannot compete with.

Big Buddha and Wat Chalong

In Phuket, the temple that holds the most importance is Wat Chalong and it is by far the most visited of them all. Wat Chalong was built in the 19th century and its grand pagoda is said to house a splinter of bone that once belonged to the Lord Buddha himself. The temple is also home to the Poh Than Jao Wat, which is considered very important among Buddhists and nearby are two statues of Ta Khee-lek, a local man whom is said to have won the lottery many times after paying homage to the Poh Than Jao Wat statue.

Promthep Viewpoint

If there is one thing you can be assured about with a trip to Phuket, it’s that you will be treated to some of the best sights you will ever see. The island and the surrounding vicinity are home to some of the most naturally beautiful sights on the planet. Stunning corals, sheer cliffs and clear azure waters may leave visitors wondering if what they are seeing is real as the natural beauty is quite unlike what you will find anywhere else.

Simon Cabaret

Thailand is a country that is renowned for its warm welcome and guests will be greeted with smiles as soon as they arrive. The Thai people are very fun loving and look to have a good time at any opportunity so your stay will surely be one to remember. As such, you can expect Phuket to have plenty to keep the visitor entertained throughout the day and once the sun has set for the evening. Once the sun has gone down many people will head for the night spots to enjoy fine meals and to drink until they can drink no more.

Phuket Fantasea

As a tropical paradise island you would expect much of the island’s activities to be beach and sea based, and you will not be wrong. Visitors come in their droves to take in the gorgeous natural scenery and to top up their tans but not everything on Phuket Thailand is about the beach and the weather. Phuket also has lots to offer the visitor at night with a wild nightlife, plenty of shopping opportunities, great restaurants and something really quite spectacular Phuket Fantasea. The 140 acre site is an extravaganza of entertainment that the whole family will find amazing.

Old Phuket Town

In addition to the sun, sea, sand and naughty nightlife there is another side to Phuket that sadly many visitors miss out on. That people have been coming to the island from far and wide is not a new phenomenon as Phuket has for long been attracting visitors from across the planet for generations. This means that the island does have its own history and much of this history can be found evidenced on the Islands man population centre, Phuket Town.

Soi Bangla

Sun, sea, sand, culture, food, arts and a warm welcome are all things that bring tourists back to Thailand time and time in their droves. Resorts all across the country are busy all year round with many people headed to the beach to top up their tans and witness such beautiful natural sights that you may pinch yourself to confirm that you are not dreaming.

Phang Nga Bay

Visitors to Phang Nga Bay are likely to get a sense of déjà vu as they take in the amazing natural scenery. The limestone cliffs jutting out from the clear blue waters are such a spectacle that they could be mistaken for something that would be found on a movie set, and you could be forgiven for thinking so because it once was a movie set. So dramatic is the scenery that it was chosen as a site to shoot the James Bond Movie ‘The Man With a Golden Gun’, and as such has become immortalised as a site that many people will recognise in an instant.

A new attraction has opened in Phuket called Phuket Games Zone in Chalong on the same street as Phuket Zoo. They've got an 18 hole football golf course, it's really good fun.
